Yeti

The abominable snowman of high altitude terrain

DESCRIPTION

A Bigfoot-like creature associated with the Himalayas and other high, cold mountain ranges. Described as tall, white or pale gray furred, and adapted to extreme cold and thin air. North American reports of "white Bigfoot" in snowy, high elevation areas are sometimes filed under this category.

BEHAVIOR

Solitary and elusive, typically reported in whiteout conditions or at the edge of visibility during storms. Associated with large, humanlike tracks in snow that appear and then vanish at a ridgeline or cliff face.

REPORTED HABITAT & LOCATIONS

High elevation, snow covered terrain: alpine ridgelines, remote mountain passes, and areas above the tree line with little to no human presence for most of the year.
