Backwoods Recon was founded on a simple idea: the truth is out there, and the best way to find it is through data, not guesswork. What started as a group of friends with a shared fascination for the unexplained became something much bigger after one of us experienced an unforgettable Bigfoot encounter while camping. Since then, we've been committed to investigating the mysteries that continue to captivate people around the world.

Our mission is to build the most comprehensive cryptid sighting database possible. By collecting reports from eyewitnesses everywhere, we can identify patterns, map geographic hotspots, analyze trends over time, and focus future investigations where the evidence is strongest. Whether it's Bigfoot, Dogman, lake monsters, or lesser-known cryptids, every credible report helps paint a clearer picture.

We believe the answers won't come from isolated stories alone. They'll come from thousands of reports viewed together. If enough people are seeing something, there may be a reason.
